Day 12

Late again, but judging by the look of the weather outside you're going to be too busy drinking Pimms and lighting Barbeque's to notice. My time will come I'm sure.
A bit like Mr Button today who romped away with the Monaco. Another reason it's late.
Quite a busy day today. 2 units of blood, 1 still running through. Saline drip overnight and this morning, so I've ben a bit tied. But at least the blood should give me boost.
Thanks for all your posts and mails.
Tomorrow

Karen, dont'listen to DL. He's never seen a rugby match in his life and Leicester is too far south for him to know where it is. At least his local 'toon team will be playing Scunthorpe next season.

Afternoon Charles...well for me anyways..I think you're probably ready for a evening snack. I'm hoping that blood is giving you the boost you want. I imagine Pimms is an English beer. I may have to pick some up over here and toast you when you start getting your neutophils back. If not, I'll do a shot of Jagermeister. Get your rest and start counting the neutophils tomorrow.
My son and I have still not eaten a home cooked meal since my wife and daughter went on vacation to Florida. We love it. Especially no dishes to clean...although Sal used a real glass today I may have to put it in the dishwasher..ooohh the work. We been using paper plates and paper cups for our meals that we bring home. Tonight Sal and I are going to my sisters for dinner. Hopefully she will be making spaghetti. After dinner I'll be going to the casino this evening with a few friends. They finally built one in Niagara Falls on the American side a few years ago. Rachel and I go about once every one to two months. It's run by the Seneca Indians and is very nice.
Hang Tough,
Gerry

as I didn't see you today thought I'd give you an update of my day!
Firstly if it makes you feel better i wasn't drinking pimms or lighting BBQs but a long day at work :)!
BUT saying that you never guess what me and ally ate tonight.................
.............
.........
SNAILS!!!!! :0 we were just as shocked but they're surprisingly nice! we went out for a meal after work with Nat and her dad and he took us to a rather lovely restaurant by the river....we had snails and prawns for starter and then me and ally had red mullet and couscous for main very very nice.. will take you there when you're out! after we went for a magners and a quick catch of the rays on Jesus green!!
oh a storey from work as we were shutting up the front door / blind at the front of the shop wouldn't close it got jammed and broke so the managers couldn't go home which was kind of funny for us guys but not that funny for the managers who had to stay... thieves would have a field day!
anyway hope the blood makes you feel better, sorry didn't see you today but I will come see in tomorrow.
sleep well
lots of love Rosie xxxxxxx

In a very real sense, I guess PImms is an english beer - rather than drink a refreshing lager like any other nation, in summer we have this arcane spirit mixed with lemonade and stuff it full of mint, cucumber chunks and borrage, whatever that is. I mean, what other nation would take a drink and stick some random flowers in it.
I served Richard Whitely 4 pints of Pimms once at the Henley Regatta and he nearly had a fit when I told him the price. "28 pounds? That's daylight robbery." I tried to think of a witty Stilgoe-esque reply, or something about how Vorderman might have done the maths quicker, but I just came out with, " Er, sorry, do you want it or not."
Snappy.

Hope today is good. Where's the spreadsheet we were promised!

I'll raise my glass to you later Charles if I get the chance for a pimms. Feel like I deserve one as I have spent the morning cleaning and cooking and shopping like a mad thing.
My sister is here from Australia which has been brilliant but already the time has whizzed by and she'll be on her way back this time next week.
Have also got an Aunty and Uncle from America and a brother in law from Cyprus and Mum and Dad from up the road round this afternoon.
I've been clearing up toys from every part of the house which have become part of the fixtures and fittings over the past months. Its amazing what you get used to! As fast as I clear them up though new playmobil road tracks and townships are appearing in other rooms.
This week I have been mostly busy on the allotment! My sister helped me to rig up some wigwammy things for the beans. Broad beans looking good and pototoes. And the gooseberries look good too. I netted them up as last year I lost nearly every gooseberry to something over a weekend. Not so sure it were birds neither!! Peas are going good since I put chicken wire over them to stop mice nibbling the seed. The smelly contents of the chicken house seems to be working some magic in the soil this year!!!
So...thinking of you. Lots of love, Sue and the gang xxx
