Bonza!,
I've been waiting for my blood results to come back before posting this. Good job I did as I have neutrophil news. They are 0.1 WBC = 0.3. This may sound piffling to most of you, if not all of you out there, but for me and my closest this is a major advance on 0.01. I need to be at 0.5 and they let me out of here, maybe by the end of the week end. Lets hope it continues at a pace.
I kind of knew as I have been feeling generally better in the last couple of days.
I think I'll celebrate with a Pepsi.
I also just bought Jeanette a bicycle today on eBay. A rather nice 'lady's' Mercian, and it should arrive in the next few days. It can be ridden by any woman not just Ladys. i.e. not only wives of knights of the realm or those recognised by her majesty. Some of you know I have a small obsession for this make of cycle. They are all handmade. Rolls Royce of a cycle.

Wow, excellent news. The end is now in sight.
Very excited.
Are you planning to take your posh bikes to Scotland?

Charles, Great news! Obviously, I had my weeks confused when I posted my message yesterday and thought today was the 13th. I guess in spirit it worked out well.

Ah ha! Bonza indeed! Great news on the neutrophil front. Here's hoping they really take off now and you can be home soon to admire the bike.
I seem to remember we already had the newspaper on the beach in scotland at midnight conversation, but even so I would re-recommend a stop off in Durness to explore the bay and the dunes and some of the finest coastline (Loch Eriboll, Kyle of Tongue) I've ever seen anywhere in the world. Try the Smoo Cave Hotel if its still there - used to be a great place to drink into the early hours before returning to the tent to read the newspaper!
Many congrats again and really pleased those pesky neutrophils are beginning to behave.
Graham, Karen and others ;) x

I notice that DL today is showing us a picture of him practicing the ancient Northumbrian art of Cowpat balancing. Shouldn't let these traditions die out, good onya DL

Two things -
1. I also love you - but I hasten to add not in the same way as Jeanette, much more of a "glad to have you as a friend" type of love.
2. Castre is a small town in the south of France (apologies to those who already knew that)and when Castre played Carcassone two years ago in the Heineken Cup, me and my two friends were the only English people there. The mayor of Castre arranged my "cowpat" at the exact jaunty angle required and in answer to my question "why are so few people wearing berets" said, in very good English, "how many people wear bowler hats at a Saracens match?"
3. Will have to change the picture
4. Jeanette - once the Mercian goes rusty you will be able to hang it up in the garage next to Charlie's other rusty Mercians
5. My brother and I once stood knee-deep in a stream under a bridge to eat our sandwiches because that was drier than standing out in the rain - just near the Tarbet Hotel on Harris - ask Charlie about how he soaked to the seating
6. was only meant to have two points

Hi Charles what excellent news!! Fingers crossed they carry on the good work and you can get home soon! Still no news on the job front for Andrew so he is looking forward to coming up to spend a day or 2 with you when your home. He did have an interview yesterday for patient transport but unfortunately didn't get the job, he did well though as over 138 people applied!! He has also been invited to an assessment day for a foundation engineer with the national grid in June. Love to everyone. Claire Andrew Katherine Rebecca and Victoria. xxxxx
