47% of the 21 votes were to cut my hair short. Hard cheese. That was my manifesto; but it's my democracy.
Just moved to a room (No 9 - Pink) with a nice view of the fields, the road to Haverhill over the Gogs (the only hill in Cambridge - of which they are very proud). It's a popular dog walking area and is closed at night as I believe it became popular for another type of dog related pastime. I did pen a short poem.
Gog Magog,
Shite of dog.
I thought it was rather good.

Day zero is here at last! Looking forward to hearing how it went. We are also new to blogging and it is very good, aside from the humour of course.

Dear Charles
I took your poem to the venerable Gog Magog Golf Club. I walked through their hallowed portals, across lush persian rugs and through ancient cigar scented halls.
I enquired of the club secretary, "Would you consider using this as your club motto, above the crest?"
He peered at the paper over half moon specs.."Gog Magog. Shite of Dog".
It turns out they have attack dogs. I was evicted with two rottweilers hanging off my buttocks. Anabolic.
Work harder on your poetry

Hmm, the poem....don't give up the day job.
I was wondering, do you still use a nine iron to return the little gifts your neighbour's pets leave on your back lawn?
Incidentally, today's "word verification" security thing at the bottom of this screen reads "phypho" which of course made me think of you chuckling at one of SJS's finest politically correct employment mantras...is the FIFO rule still practised?
Take care,
P

If there is a dramatic reduction in the amount of foreign shite on my back lawn in the weeks of your hospital admission, I will know who blame, Mr 9 Iron!
Oops hope I haven't got you into trouble Charlie....you were of course referring to a different neighbour when you told me the story....
Sorry to hear sleeping is an issue - did your roomie mate ask "is it time to get up yet Dad?" when he woke at 6? I completely sympathise
